SOCA (Students of Color Alliance) – Tuesdays, 2:15 – 3:15, Room 305.
SOCA works to create a more welcoming environment for students of the global majority at NHS. Encouraging all students of color, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or class, to come and socialize and work to raise awareness of issues that impact lives. White allies are always welcome.

Cryptography Club – Friday, 2-3, Room G16. Learn to encrypt / decrypt messages, keep information secure, work in base 26 numbers systems, create languages, and more!

Interact Club – Thursdays, once a month, 2:00 pm, Room 102.
The Interact Club assists the community through service and fundraisers. Contact Alex Sylvester ( or Emma Tanner ( for further information.

Chess Club – Thursdays, 2:00 pm, Room 205.

Outing Club – Thursdays, 2:00 pm, Room 224.

Young Democrats Club – Wednesday, 2:00 pm, Room 118.
Work to raise minimum wage, provide paid family medical leave, implement millionaire’s tax in Massachusetts, defend DACA, or attend the National Youth Action March.


MIAA’s 21st Annual Wellness Summit

The Athletic Department is sponsoring a field trip to the MIAA’s 21st Annual Wellness Summit on Friday, October 27 at the Double Tree Hotel in Westborough, MA. The conference features workshops on Substance Abuse Prevention, Healthy Relationships, Team Building and Leadership, Resilience and Student Engagement, Easting Disorders/Depression/Mental Health, Sports/Specializations/Supplements, Social Emotional learning, Stress Relief, and more. Lunch is provided. All students are welcome. Please RSVP via email or in person to Ms. Dupre, by Friday, September 22.

Attention Class of 2021

Leadership positions for Freshmen Class Offices and Student Government are open for upcoming elections. Class Officer positions – President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. These leadership roles guides class fundraising activities. Student Government – Four positions open to give the 9th grade class voice in the student government. Nomination papers are available in the Main Office. Deadline for nominations is Friday, September 22.


French Students Interested in Teaching?

French Students: are you interested in passing on your French knowledge to students? Introduction to French is being offered to grades 1-3 starting the first week of October through December at the Leeds Elementary School.

Volunteer with the PTO

There are many ways to volunteer with the PTO, either on long-term projects or for a one-time event. Not only do you help the school community, but you’ll meet other parents/guardians, and learn more about what’s going on in the school.

The PTO website includes a general list of volunteer opportunities and a list of events where you can help. Email to volunteer or for more information (or email the contact listed, if there is one).

Parking Passes

Parking passes will be sold to only seniors outside the office before and after school from Monday through Friday for $30. All other students or seniors that did not purchase during the first week can buy a pass for $35 from September 18 through September 22.

New NHS Musical Dates

The NHS Musical, Into the Woods, is moving from November 2017 back to its original performance slot in March 2018. Student Athletes who had held out of Fall Sports in order to audition will be welcomed back to their teams – they should contact Ms. Dupre as soon as possible! Please stay tuned for more information about fall theater activities.
