Reading Opportunity

If you are a rising junior or senior and enjoy reading, The Yiddish Book Center in Amherst is hosting a week long seminar to read and discuss books by Jewish authors. You do NOT have to be Jewish to participate. Now in its seventh year, the Yiddish Book Center’s Great Jewish Books Summer Program, which gives teens a life-changing introduction to important works of modern Jewish literature, is accepting applications.

Teens from across North America—and from diverse religious affiliations and family backgrounds—come together for five days at the Center to study with college professors, meet contemporary authors, and make lasting friendships. Authors explored may be Anna Deveare Smith, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Cynthia Ozick, Adrienne Rich, and Isaac Babel. Every admitted participant receives a scholarship for the full cost of tuition, room, board, books, and special events.
