Movie Night

The National Honor Society is hosting a movie night next week on Thursday, November 9th! We will be showing the fantastic animated movie Moana in the auditorium at 7:00 pm and the entry fee is only $3.

Popcorn, baked goods, drinks, and more will be for sale, so come join us and start your Veterans Day weekend with a great movie and good food! If you have any questions, contact Sydney White or Quinn Nortonsmith.

Mandatory Concussion Testing

Mandatory concussion testing for all NHS student athletes (for students who have not taken the test yet this year; for new students to NHS; for Juniors; required of ALL student athletes every 2 years) will be offered in the NHS 1st floor computer lab from 2:15-3:45pm (please arrive by 3:15pm; test takes approximately 30 minutes): 11/2, 11/6, 11/13. No appointments needed. Please drop in.

Florence Bank Customers’ Choice Community Grants

Please vote for the Northampton High School PTO in the Florence Bank Customers’ Choice Community Grants program!

In the past, the NHS PTO has been one of the top vote getters and we’ve been able to use the grants to support needs throughout the school, from technology to field trips.

Volunteers Needed – Recycling Event

Northampton is hosting a city-wide recycling event at Smith Voc on Sat Nov 4th from 9-noon. Residents can recycle styrofoam, pumpkins, bikes and paper. If you are a Northampton High student and you would like to volunteer at this event, please contact Mr. Moylan.

The NHS Athletic Department has partnered with Holyoke Sporting Goods to host an online Team store for your Blue Devils gear. Please check out this website: https://holyokesports.tuosystems.com/stores/holyokesports-nhs2017.

The current sale is open now and will close on November 10, 2017 at 11:59pm EST. Please share with your teams, your classes, alum, anyone who needs to replenish their Hampwear.

We will re-open this store for our Winter and Spring sports so if you don’t see Swimming or Lacrosse as an option, have no fear, they will appear.

Volunteers Needed – Cooley Dickenson Hospital

Would you consider sharing your time and talent to help the community? Cooley Dickinson Hospital needs volunteers to staff the Coffee Shop any day from 4-7:30. Winter Sports


Information on Winter Sports registration is available on the NHS Athletics website.

*IMPORTANT* All students interested in playing a winter sport must attend, with 1 parent/guardian, the Winter Sports Meeting on Tuesday November 14 at 6pm in the auditorium.

Ski Club
Students interested in participating in SKI CLUB (not the varsity team) should email (kdupre@northampton-k12.us), call (413-587-1356), or stop by Ms. Dupre’s office to submit their names and contact information. The deadline to do so is November 1. We need at least 30 students in order to run Ski Club.

College Financial Aid Guidance


David Belanger, Director of Student Financial Services at Smith College will be offering individual appointments to seniors and their parents/guardians on the financial aid process. Mr. Belanger was the presenter at the NHS Financial Aid Night in October. He will be here at NHS for two evenings, November 1 and November 8 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm for 1/2 hour appointments. Please contact either Andrea Sullivan in the guidance department at 413-587-1353, email her at asullivan@northampton-k12.us, or contact your student’s guidance counselor to schedule an appointment.
