Non-NHS Educational Opportunities / NHS courses attendance

On school days where there is a change in daily schedule, due to a half day or late start, resulting in a time conflict with the student’s NHS courses and a Smith Class, GCC/HCC class, internship, or work study, the NHS course absence will be considered excused and will not go against the attendance policy. Although the absence from an NHS class is excused, students are still required for any and all missed work and due dates.

Students with final exams for Smith, HCC, or GCC courses are expected to take these assessments during the designated class time as defined on their semester schedule. Students choosing to take a Smith, GCC, or HCC final at an alternate time resulting in an absence from a scheduled NHS class are considered unexcused and will count against attendance policy.
