Sojourner Truth Scholarships for Social Justice

Sojourner Truth Scholarship applications are due April 9.  All Hampshire or Hampden County public high school seniors who have been active in social justice efforts and plan to attend college or postsecondary school may apply. Up to three $1,000 scholarships may be awarded.

The application requires submitting an essay of two or three double-spaced pages (800–1200 words) telling about your social justice project(s). Apply online www.sojournertruthmemorial.org/scholarship/application or by US mail (paper applications are available in NHS guidance office). Guidelines on what to include are outlined on the application. Contact Marcus Ware at marcware@hotmail.com if you have questions. Scholarships will be awarded in person at the annual celebration on May 24, the Sunday before Memorial Day, at the Sojourner Truth Memorial Statue Park in Florence
