Welcome Back!

Welcome back to another NHS school year!

This is the first issue of the weekly PTO newsletter Hamp Highlights for the 2021-2022 academic year. We are looking forward to hearing from caregivers, students, and NHS staff this year.  Hamp Highlights is delivered to your email every Thursday morning and will help keep you up-to-date on school and community events.

The NHS PTO’s mission is to:

  • Promote a positive working relationship between parents and staff
  • Foster and encourage parent and community participation in the high school
  • Serve as a forum for the discussion of parental concerns and to provide recommendations to school administrators
  • Raise funds and provide resources to support an excellent, well-rounded education for students

Many caregivers find when their students reach high school they don’t know how things work, how to stay connected, and who to contact. The PTO is a great way to stay connected to your student’s educational community and to make a positive difference in our school.

GO ONLINE

Visit our website, hamphigh-nhspto.org. You can share this and encourage new NHS parents to subscribe. You can also join the discussion on Facebook and Twitter (@NHSpto).

VOLUNTEER

The NHS PTO hosts annual teacher-appreciation events which we always need help with in the way of prepared foods, donations, and on-site volunteers.  Additionally, the PTO offers teacher grants, supports school collections of student supplies, hosts the School Council elections, and more.  Please stay tuned for how you can be involved to support NHS teachers and our students.

DONATE

Donations can be made through the PTO website and by participating in fundraisers throughout the school year. These donations support teacher-appreciation events, necessary student academic and person supplies, teacher grants, classroom supplies, and more.

MEET

The first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 14 at 7pm in the tent in front of NHS. Please join us! Hear from monthly guest speakers and participate in the PTO’s efforts to enrich our students’ high school experience. All parents and guardians of students attending NHS, and school staff, are PTO members and are welcome to attend the monthly meetings.

If you have an NHS event or news item that relates to NHS or is about a community event, please email it to nhsptonews@gmail.com by Tuesday for the (normally) Thursday morning weekly newsletter issue.

If you would like to contact the PTO, please email:  nohopto@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Liz Horn – President
Megan Paik – Vice President
Sharon Kubin – Treasurer
Michaela O’Brien – Secretary
