Update on crossing guard accident:
As you are aware one of the crossing guards at NHS was struck by a vehicle this week. We now know that this was not a hit and run incident. We also know that the crossing guard is doing well and back at work. Thank you for those who reached out offering support and words of kindness regarding his well being.
Following this incident Chief Kasper of the NPD and Donna LaScaleia Director of Public Works observed morning traffic patterns at the high school. An update will be made regarding next steps in responding to high school traffic.
Please monitor your speed and heighten your awareness as you enter intersections and crosswalks.
