Join the NEF Endowment Committee (ad-hoc of NHS School Council)

The Northampton Education Foundation (NEF) is restructuring NEF Endowment Fund Grants to put decisions about how grant funds are used more squarely within the school communities. Under the new structure, $100,000 will be allocated to NHS every three years. The NHS School Council, or a committee of the Council, will develop proposals for projects to be funded, with guidance from NEF representatives. The NEF board will have final approval over how the funds are spent.

The NHS School Council sub-committee will act as mini-Endowment Committee. If you would like to participate in determining how NHS uses this generous funding, you can Sign Up HERE

The ad-hoc team will:

  • create a rubric and process for reviewing project proposals
  • review internal grant proposals for school-based projects and enrichment opportunities
  • submit to NEF a single proposal for spending their entire allocation over three years
  • demonstrate significant teacher input and participation, as well as administrative review, in the development of its proposal
  • reflect the membership of the Council as a whole
  • contain both Council members and non-members
